Outreach facilities for urban youth programs have a few things in common other than the lingering smell of Doritos. Usually it's a donated foosball table.
Now you can use city kids' love of foosball to further their biblical education.
How? Create a Fantasy Bible Foosball Team.
Here's how you do it. Tell each youth that they have been elected an official Scout for a fantasy foosball team. But here's the catch: all of the possible drafts aren't from colleges or universities, but from stories in the Bible. Teens can pick any male or female character from a Bible story. Then, they have to defend their choices. Why would this person be a good teammate? What positive champion characteristics do they have? What are they famous for in the Bible? What do they like the best about them?
Each Scout then has to present his or her draft choices to the group. The group decides nay or yeah.
Fantasy Bible Foosball is a great way to get teens to read their Bible.
This lesson is also great to get your group talking about teamwork, championship traits, media role models vs. biblical stars. It also gets teens into the Bible.
But don't stop with the draft pick. Order spare foos guys to decorate as your fantasy team. All you need is a glue gun, yarn, cotton balls and a lot of imagination. You can order them inexpensively online at places like Meuller.com.
Be sure to download the TastyFaith Fantasy Foosball Player lesson!
If you do decorate foosball players, please send the photos to TastyFaith. We'd love to create a Fantasy Bible Foosball Hall of Fame!
